Rain Gutters
Imagine pointing a running water hose at the ground for a couple seconds. You can see the water burrow a hole as it breaks up the ground and mixes with the soil. If you then step into that puddle you made, your foot will sink down into the mud.Rainwater can have the same effect on your foundation after years of falling from your roof at the same places and pooling there, weakening your anchors and footings.A gutter system all but eliminates those dangers. These narrow channels run horizontally along the edge of your roof at the low end of your roof's pitch and collects the rain as it falls, directing it to nearby downspouts. French Drains
Water is a very destructive force and it's important to move it away from your home and yard.A french drain is essentially a large-diameter (typically 3-4") perforated tube buried in a channel under areas where water pools or gathers. The goal is for storm-water to filter down through a layer of rock (aggregate) and into the perforated tube which is routed away from the home and into the appropriate reservior/ sewer.The finished look is completely customizable- from the size, color and texture of the aggregate to the style of the retaining material. This type of water removal system is elegant and can be installed to compliment your current landscape design.French drains are a low-cost solution that works to control erosion, eliminate soggy yards, preserve retaining walls, and protect your foundation from water damage.If you notice water pooling in different places on your property during storms and heavy rain, you may be in need of a french drain or other water removal system.
